Elizabeth Huard Spanish Institute

Elizabeth Huard

Director of Programs and Operations

Elizabeth moved to Boulder in August of 2014 from Tallahassee, Florida, where she recently graduated from Florida State University with her Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature and Film with a concentration in food studies. She also received her Master’s in Hispanic Literature from Florida State University (2009) and she holds a Bachelor’s in Spanish from Valdosta State University (Valdosta, GA, 2007). She taught Spanish (basic, literature, and culture classes) for 7 years at Florida State University (2007-2014), has tutored undergraduates and high-school aged students in Spanish and English, and has worked with Hispanic migrant children in the South Georgia school system, aiding them with the acquisition of English geared towards the completion of daily school tasks and general life in the United States. Currently, she is teaching a Spanish for Senior Citizen’s class at Spanish Institute. To compliment this, she is really excited to be teaching English at English Institute, as she loves maneuvering back and forth between her native language (English) and her second language (Spanish), and sharing the possibilities that each language brings.

When she isn’t working, Elizabeth enjoys cooking, reading novels and anything food-related, going on beautiful Boulder hikes, and working out. She has been an avid CrossFitter since 2008, holds her Level 1 CrossFit certification, and loves coaching her classes at Flatirons CrossFit!
